Reimagining Mataura Full Stakeholder Wānanga – Thursday 15th June

Following on from previous wānanga held in 2022, the full stakeholder wānanga brought together all of the stakeholder groups involved with the Reimagining Mataura project over the past 12 months.

Over 120 attendees were present from industry, community, and central and local government groups. General updates and progress on the project were shared, as well as the future direction and next steps. Guest speaker presentations were given by Thriving Southland, Fulton Hogan, GNS Science, Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu, University of Otago, and Land and Water Science.

Overall, it was a very successful day, with a strong indication from stakeholders that they are interested to see how the project continues to progress over the next 6-12 months. We will be continuing our engagement with all stakeholder groups during the upcoming months.
